Visualizing your data through graphs and widgets is a great way to gain insight into your data. Let us take a look at how you can accomplish this in Ignite, by creating your own custom analysis.

How to Create a New Analysis
In order to create a new analysis, you have to open the analysis builder. The New analysis button, which is used for opening the analysis builder, is located in two places: In the left side menu under Custom Analytics, or in the top right of a Dashboard.
Click the arrow to the right of Custom Analytics in the left side menu
While in the Analytics module, click the + New Analysis in the upper right corner. Choose "Custom analysis" in the menu that pops up.
Analysis Builder
The analysis builder is quite simple to use once you understand the basics. Building an analysis is done in four steps, which are described below.
1. Select which data source you want to use data from
In the upper left you can choose which "Data source" to build the analysis from. The data sources you can choose between here are your available Data tables, which includes any aggregated tables.
2. Build the analysis by drag-and-dropping data fields
Below the Data source menu, you can see all the available data fields to use the in the analysis. These fields can be drag-and-dropped into the "Values", "Columns" and "Rows" areas.
3. Adjust the analysis settings to your preferences
Over to the right of the visualization you can find the chart configuration. Within the configuration, you can adjust settings such as font size and number of decimals shown for fields in the Values area.
To the left of the Save button, there is a Filter button. You can use this to apply filters to your analysis, narrowing down the data it displays.
4.Save the analysis to your desired dashboard
Once you are satisified with your analysis, you can save it to any of your dashboards. Click Save in the middle top right and select the dashboard you want it saved to.

We support 14 different chart types as well as the ability to use tables. To switch from chart to table, press the Table icon in the upper right of the analysis builder. In the screenshot below, you can see it marked by a red square in the middle of two other icons.
We recommend playing around with the different charts so that you can find out what they look like, and therefore easier can pick the best one for your custom analysis.

The finishing step of creating an analysis is to save it. To do so, hit the 💾 Save button in the upper right corner of the analysis builder. Pressing this button will make this menu show up:
Here you can choose a name for your analysis and choose which dashboard it shall be saved to.

To utilize scripts in your analysis, start by switching to the "Scripts" tab, then press the "+ Add a script" button.
Pressing the button will bring up this interface:
To start building your script, choose a value from the "Add a value" menu. For more information on scripts, you can read this article.
Date and Time Filtering
Date and Time Filtering
Filtering your analysis to only display data from a specific time period is easily done through our Filter feature. Start by clicking the "Filter" icon as seen below marked with a red square.
After pressing the icon, you will be presented with this menu. Click +Filter and pick the filter containing your desired Data and Time data. Set a pre-defined time period, or a custom one, and click "Apply".
